I wish I knew. Some have come from traumatic events and some have always been around. They can cycle through and “die” and more can come into their place.

Anonymous asked: If someone reads something triggering, thinking they can handle it, and then ends up being triggered, is it fair for them to blame themselves? In your eyes, I mean.

There’s no one to blame. Personally, I would (and still do) blame the people / things that originally caused the things I get triggered by (aka. rape, non-consensual, etc.). It’s certainly not the writers fault if they put up a trigger warning, because I have been triggered by things that didn’t contain trigger warnings and that is the writer’s fault. I don’t think someone should blame themselves if they get triggered, as I personally believe that getting pass your triggers involves facing them. Kind of like a face your fears thing. If that makes sense. Don’t hate me if I gave a bad answer, guys.
